SYNTHETIC DREAMS

Special Chapter 6: The Final Lesson
Hello, Perpetually Confused Dreamers!
Welcome to the final episode of Oniria Tune, where we wrap up this impromptu crash course on the rules of Oniria with a grand finale.
Today, we’re tackling a trio of rules that will finally explain why Oniria is such a… special place. So, take a seat—just don’t get too comfortable. In Oniria, even chairs have opinions.
Rule number twenty: Dying in Oniria almost never means dying in Vigil
Go ahead, exhale that sigh of relief, dreamnauts. If you plummet off a cliff in Oniria or get devoured by a marzipan dragon (yes, it exists, I’ve seen it), odds are you’ll just wake up in Vigil—drenched in sweat, disoriented, and wondering why your subconscious is like this.
Rule number twenty-one: Oniria is part of reality
Ah, one of my favorites. Because, honestly? Watching you all process this one never gets old.
Yes, dreamers, this isn’t some isolated fantasy realm, neatly separated from your physical world. Oniria and Vigil are connected, and what happens here echoes there. That weird lingering anxiety you wake up with after an especially intense night in Oniria? Yeah. Now you know who to blame.
This place is just as real as your morning traffic jams—except with more giant cats, talking coffee mugs, and kabu skittering around causing chaos.
(And if you’re still wondering, “What the hell is a kabu?” Just know they’re tiny agents of disorder, and if you ever meet one, you can personally thank them for those bizarre, reality-warping dreams that refuse to leave you alone for days.)
Sure, it might not be pleasant, and it’ll probably leave you questioning your life choices, but at least it won’t be the end.
That said, don’t get too reckless. Some deaths here feel real enough to make you wish you had never dreamed in the first place. So, maybe save the acrobatic leaps into the void for the professionals. (Spoiler: they don’t exist either.)
Rule number twenty-three: In rare cases, your dream body might stay behind in Oniria even after you wake up
Ah, this one’s a classic.
Imagine waking up, only to feel like a part of you is still here, wandering the Sphere. Sometimes it’s just a nagging sensation, like the itch of a forgotten thought. Other times… it’s something more. An echo of you, still exploring, even when you think you’re awake.
My advice? If you ever get the feeling you’ve left something behind, maybe don’t go looking for it. You really won’t like what you find.
Ask Adrik. He had a similar experience, and let’s just say he’s a lot more cautious about stepping into bubbles that have doors instead of exits. Because those doors? They hide things. And sometimes, those things include… pieces of yourself.
And now, Oniri’s Final Advice for Lost Dreamers: Stop trying to control everything!
Oniria is the perfect place to get lost, to unravel, to let the chaos show you something new about yourself.
If you come here thinking you’re in charge, you’re in for a rude awakening. But if you let Oniria guide you? You might just find something you didn’t even know you were searching for.
That said—if you do leave something behind, maybe just… leave it there. Unless, of course, you’re eager to end up with an unexpected dream-world tagalong.
And with that, we close the final chapter of Oniria Tune.
It’s been a pleasure guiding you through this world of absurd rules, mischievous kabu, and blurred realities.
If you’re still curious, you can always take a peek at my Synthetic Dreams journal. It’s a lot less formal than this show, but if you enjoy juicy details about the strange misadventures of clueless dreamers—and my completely unbiased takes on the chaos of Oniria—you’ll love it.
See you in the next dream. And may Oniria treat you as kindly as possible… which, let’s be real, isn’t much.
